“Frequently stunning”

We’ve been described as “one of the most underrated UK acts of the last decade” in Rock a Rolla magazine, and though no-one wants to be overrated, it’d be nice to be… you know… rated. Or something.

So here’s a call to arms for all you Caretaker faithful… you can help us get that little bit more recognition for our years of rock service (and hopefully recoup some of the thousands of pounds of debt we’re in) by sharing a link to our facebook page(http://www.facebook.com/Caretakerband), or a link to our new album (http://caretaker.bandcamp.com/).

You can write a quick review at Itunes or on Amazon or if you’re into your music forums, tell people! Drowned in Sound or Collective, whatever!
If you like what you’re hearing from us, please, please let people know about it!

We’ll be recording a session for Ian Camfield’s Xfm Rock Show this weekend, and we’ve got a few more gigs coming for May and June, so keep you eyes and ears peeled!
xx

Lift Off

Hello friends,

This Friday we’ll be joined by many good friends, both on stage and off, as we celebrate the launch of our new album ‘Providence’ at The Unicorn in Camden. It promises to be a special occasion – not only are we joined on the bill by three excellent bands whom we hold in high regard, but we will also be playing ‘The Inexorable March‘ with Mike Woodman of Thumpermonkey Lives! for the first (and possibly last!) time.

We’ll have copies of the album for sale at this show, as well as some newly printed T-shirts. Entry is free – be sure to get there early to catch Ternary (featuring Wayne Pennell, the man behind the controls during the recording of ‘Providence’).

See you Friday.

Charm Offensive

So,  it’s just under seven weeks until the official album launch date and we’re busy at Caretaker Towers (and Fort We Be) trying to make sure the album gets as much coverage as possible! We’ve been sending out promos to all the usual suspects and we’ve had some fantastic results so far in the first week – Sunday saw us getting a play from Ian Camfield on the XFM Rock Show, and yesterday we made our long awaited return to the Radio One Rock Show with Daniel P Carter.

If anyone fancies giving Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens or Mike Davies a nudge, feel free…

We’ve had a couple of great write ups on blogs as well, but we need your help to keep up with it all! If you seen any mention of Caretaker any where on the internet or in a magazine give us a shout. It’s not just to feed our huge egos, we like to keep our scrap books up to date, and it reassuring for our mums to know that we haven’t been wasting our lives!

We’re still booking dates throughout March and April, so we hope to see some of you very soon!

Much love x

Countdown to launch date

Thanks to everyone who ordered an advance copy of “Providence” in December, we hope it fulfilled all your Christmas wishes? If you didn’t get around to buying a copy, you can still pre-order it from the shop but unfortunately you won’t be getting your mitts on it until the launch date of March 5th! Just to whet your appetite though, you can read a review at the Captain of Lies music blog.

And speaking of launching… We’re throwing a party to celebrate the release! It’s at the Unicorn in Camden on Friday 2nd of March, it’s free entry, and will be really quite awesome. Alongside Caretaker will be Silent Front, Thumpermonkey Lives! and Ternary. Miss out at your peril!
